Avoca Beach
Avoca has an easygoing village feel between the lagoon and ocean. Its long beach is popular with surfers, while the southern end near the rock pool is often favoured by families seeking gentler water. The open ocean can be powerful, particularly toward the northern end.

North Avoca
Just over the hill from Avoca, North Avoca has a more residential and quieter character. Its long shoreline suits beach walks and surfers, while the nearby lagoon can offer an alternative to the open surf depending on conditions.

Wamberal
Wamberal’s wide sweep of sand runs north from Terrigal. Coast Getaways recommends it for long walks, surfing and the sense of space away from the main access points. Rips and changing banks are common, so check conditions and use patrolled areas where available.

Forresters Beach
Framed by headlands, Forresters Beach has a tucked-away feel and is known for its surf. Coast Getaways notes that it is better suited to confident surfers and experienced ocean swimmers than young children. The surrounding streets have a quiet holiday-home character.

Copacabana
Copacabana, also known locally as Coppa, pairs a generous beach and headland views with a laid-back village atmosphere. The southern end near Cockrone Lagoon offers a change of scenery, while ocean conditions still deserve care.

Killcare & Bouddi
Killcare is where the Coast becomes more hushed and bush-fringed. The open beach sits beneath dramatic headlands, close to Bouddi National Park and the coastal walk toward Putty Beach and Macmasters Beach. The surf can be strong, particularly outside patrolled periods.
